HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
Shelta is an ukrainian electronic music producer, guitarist of the german band Selectamood, photographer, graphic designer and clip maker.
Born in Kiev (13th of July 1984). He moved to Germany, when he was 20 years old. In 2007 he began to study Graphicdesign at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf.
During the first years of living in the city Bochum, Shelta recorded a bunch of Lo-Fi guitar songs at his home studio. Many songs of this period, were released later on three full length records. "And Then The Waves Woke Me Up", "When We Hit The Sun" and "Complex Nebula In Orion and The Cone Region in Monoceros".
"...and then the waves woke me up" - is a collection of wild avant-garde guitar music with sound collages and musical landscapes. "The idea behind the song "Hungry Baby Birds", -says Shelta, -was to recreate the organised chaos of an IDM song using only guitars."
"When We Hit The Sun" - is an singer songwriter album with vocals and dark experimental guitars and synthy sounds. The songs are full of abstract lyrics, guitar orchestras and vocal overdubs. "The song "When We Hit The Sun" is dedicated to my second cousin, who suffocated during a fire ,when he was at home alone. He was 6 years old. All the lyrics on this album are very personal."
"Complex Nebula In Orion and The Cone Region in Monoceros" - is a conceptual album with guitars playing many different patterns, creating a spacious atmosphere, spiced with jazz pianos and sound design. "You should listen to this album at night." -Shelta advices.
SELECTAMOOD:
In 2006 Shelta co-founded a rock-electro/experimental band, Selectamood. He recorded two studio albums with the band: "Tell Your Friends (2010)" and "My Burqa Makes Me Sweat (2011)". The Band played many live concerts around Germany and was aired on some main stream radio stations, such as "1Live". Music of the band can be described a well balanced mix of progressive rock, drum n bass, dub step music, smoothly, sometimes suddenly, proceeding into punk, jazz or pop. The band played on many festivals, and is positively acclaimed by the local critics. Selectamood shows are described by the german press as vivid, eccentric and expressive.
GETTING INTO ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCTION :
In 2010 Shelta had to fight problems with immigration and finances. That forced him to sell some of his studio equipment. Living almost a year without own home and moving from one friend's apartment to another, Shelta wasn't able to properly record guitars at home anymore. But the desire to continue creating music was stronger then anything. In December 2010 Shelta began making electronic music by using music softwares. "The endless opportunities, that I discovered in composing music on laptop, amazed me so much, that I simply couldn't stop writing music. It is like a drug, man!" - Mottex Magazine. The result of this musical addiction is two new electronic albums "Post Satanism" (January 2011) and "Geocentric" (April 2011).
"Post Satanism is crazy shit, - says Shelta in the interview for "The Rooka Magazine", -it's so chaotic! It was one of my first experiences in making electronic music. I love "Dr. Zarkov", cuz it's so aggressive and it has voices samples from the "Flash Gordon" movie."
During the recording of "Post Satanism", Shelta gathered experience and knowledges in his new role as an electronic artist, and released his latest electronic full length album, "Geocentric". A dark experimental dance music, in which Shelta utilizes elements of electro, dub step and industrial, with millions of hidden sounds and surprises, together with samples from the movies, such as "James Bond - From Russia With Love". "Geocentric is more organised, balanced and better produced, then "Post Satanism". I've read some literature about music software and production, before and during "Geocentric". That gave me more control of my intention's iteration."
CURRENTLY:
Shelta is working on his new EP, that, as he says, would be a dance album with electro, drum n bass, dub step and industrial elements. And of course not without an experimental touch. "In my future EP listeners will hear some samples from the movies of the Soviet Union such as "Heart of a Dog". A great movie by Vladimir Bortko about the post October Revolution period, based on Michail Bulgakov's novel with the same name."
PINOKELMANN PRODUCTIONS:
In 2011 Shelta co-founded an Internet platform "Pinokelmann Productions". The idea behind the platform is to release interesting and unique artists, that don't suit to mainstream music industry. Pinokelmann Production made twelve releases so far.

Фактически в настоящее время, вследствие возникающего мало-помалу демократического порядка вещей (и его причины — кровосмесительства господ и рабов), все более и более усиливается и распространяется бывшее искони свойством людей знатных и редкое стремление устанавливать самому себе цену и «хорошо думать» о себе; но ему постоянно противодействует склонность более древняя, шире распространенная и глубже вкоренившаяся, — и в феномене «тщеславия» эта древнейшая склонность побеждает позднейшую. Тщеславный человек радуется каждому хорошему мнению, которое он слышит о себе (совершенно независимо от его полезности, а также не обращая внимания на его истинность или ложность), точно так же как от всякого дурного мнения он страдает: ибо он подчиняется обоим, он чувствует себя подвластным им в силу того древнейшего инстинкта подчинения, который проявляется в нем. — Это «раб» сказывается в крови тщеславца, это остаток лукавства раба — а сколько «рабского» осталось, например, еще до сих пор в женщине! — силится соблазнить на хорошее мнение о себе, и тот же раб падает тотчас же ниц перед этими мнениями, как будто не сам он вызвал их. — И говоря еще раз: тщеславие есть атавизм.
